Starting counselling

Reaching out to a counsellor is the first step toward making a meaningful change in your life. Counselling is a dynamic process that can sometimes feel unfamiliar, but I'm here to guide you and make it as straightforward as possible.

We’ll begin with an initial consultation to help you decide whether my therapeutic style suits your needs. During this session, we’ll explore what you hope to achieve and go over important details such as confidentiality, the frequency and duration of our sessions, and other practicalities.

I offer in-person sessions in a beautiful office located on Forth Street. We can also connect online or by phone, making it easier to fit sessions around your other commitments. Alternatively, we can hold our session as a therapeutic walk in Edinburgh or the surrounding area.

Counselling

About me

I’m an integrative counsellor, which means the therapy we do together will be tailored to what works best for you. I draw on my background in psychology to guide my approach, but I’ll always invite your perspective.

Counselling is my passion, and I genuinely love what I do. The deep focus, the connection, and the compassion that come with this work are incredibly meaningful to me.

My style of therapy strikes a balance between finding practical solutions that bring some immediate relief, and exploring the bigger questions that often sit underneath.

In my experience—both as a therapist and personally—therapy can be a space where you truly meet yourself, understand what’s working (and what’s not), and start making choices that feel right for you.

Take a look below to see what issues I most often work with.

Walking Therapy

Let's take a walk

Walk and Talk Therapy is a valuable option for many people, not limited to any specific issue or diagnosis.
It’s particularly beneficial if you:

  • Feel restored by nature

  • Spend most of your day sitting and want to be more active

  • Find traditional therapy settings too intense, formal, or confining

  • Find eye contact or sitting still overwhelming.

Walking side by side, in motion, often helps clients think more clearly, feel more at ease, and connect better with themselves and their surroundings.

Before we begin Walk & Talk sessions, we’ll meet online or by phone to discuss how this way of working differs from traditional therapy. We’ll cover important topics like confidentiality in public spaces, health considerations, and practical aspects like clothing and footwear.
